Watch Description

1967 Accutron 14k gold case

Not sure of the model or proper description for case shape.  I have not opened the back of the case myself.  No parts have been swapped on this watch.

My grandfather bought this watch new and gave it to me on my 18th birthday in 1975.  I wore it daily from 1976 to 1995.  I put it away and didn't pull it out until December, 2022.  I took it to a jeweler and was told it was a longshot.  If a new battery didn't get it running, there were no longer any parts for it.  With a new battery, the watch works for a few days at a time.  I can restart it with a tap for another few days.  I'd like to know what model this watch is.  I'd also like to know reputable service companies that could get this watch back in top shape.  I got a new strap put on it and would like to wear it again.

It took me a while, but I found it in the 1963 - 1967 linebook, what a great watch and family heirloom! Illustration and text added above. Thanks for sharing it with us.

A  very unique case design. I suspect it will have a 218D 15 jewel movement.

Thanks, all, for the help with the model description and additional info.  Wow, @neetstuff-4-u that was certainly a quick search with spot-on results.  I had seen some almost similar cases that had a different face and hands.  Thanks for the love for the watch, too!

Wow, just had one of these models in my shop the other day. 14K Cases seemed to be many times different than standards 10k or 14GF cases. There is a name for the case but unknown to me.

Also, If your coils are slowly getting weaker and watch stops and you tap gently at the 3pm position, then your watch is in dire need of service. JV

Thank you, JV!  I have already sent for repair; thanks to @Geoff Baker for the referral.  As far as I know, this watch has never been serviced.  Only battery replacements.

And I still have the wooden case the watch came in.  Has the Accutron symbol on top.
