Goeff's ad is from 1965. I found two entries for the Accutron 209 in the Spring Price list. Snippet below. The unique Bulova product numbers for the two 209's shoud be telling us something, I just can't figure out what yet. There's rhyme and reason to their assignment...its just beyond us for now.

It's hard for me to go fishing for patterns or associations with hard copy and a pencil and paper. LOL
Sometimes we "see, remember, then recognize patterns", like in the fist digit of case serial numbers referring to year of manufacture for the earlier Bulova models. Mark (FifthAvenueRestorations) figured this one out by just noticing sheer numbers which fit the pattern. He's acutally cited as the guy who "discovered" this patterrn in Lisa's NAWCC Bulova article. And we all discussed this pattern here on MyBulova for a year or so before/after Mark pointed it out.
If these price lists were parsed out in some kind of database, then we could really go fishing...
I've tried OCR on the PDF's of price list, but then getting them into relational database is too challanging for me.
Where's Mark when you need him... :(
Wow i wish i understood more about what you are talking about, it sound like if you look at a large enough cross section of first digit case serial numbers ver year of manufacture someone might be able to deduce earlier Bulova models from that serial information....
