Blacked out engraved name on back.
This watch was gifted to my Grandfather when he retired from the military in 1966. PAVW stands for Polish American War Veteran. The watch currently does not run. It was running up until last year. When I take it in for service I will ask for additional images of the inside movement and case. Would like more information on the model as I have seen no similar model from that time period.
A wonderful heirloom watch, thanks for sharing it with us. Your watch is a
1966 Minute Man "A"
as presented on a leather band. There were 2 versions at the time, leather band ID'ed as "A" and on an expansion band it was "C".
Images below are from the 1965 Bulova Linebook. An interesting note is that the "A" shows "17 Jewels" on the dial, while the "C" does not.
Welcome to myBulova and thank you for sharing your watch with us. It is a very special heirloom to have from your grandfather. I am glad to hear you are going to get it serviced. When you get additional photos of the movement please add them in the comments or email them to a panel memeber to add for you.
