At the back of the case I found the datecode M6 while on the inside it is M7. So after checking on mybulova I fount that this has to be 1966 to 1967. The serial on the backside is I966898 with M6 under it. I opened the watch breafly to do a quick check and couldn't find the serial of the movement. I suspect that the serial can be found a little deeper into the movement. For now I left the watch as it is to first find out a bit more about it. Hope that you can identify my watch. I checked all the models on MyBulova and couldn't find a similar model that cam close enough to this one. Thanks in advance and if there are questions just let me know.
Welcome to mybulova and thanks for sharing this nice watch. Per the case s/n and Bulova 1966 linebooks. it's a
1966 Clipper "G"
This appears to be the first example of this variant submitted to the site. Congrats!, Nice to finally see one.
Bulova watches from this time period didn't have a s/n on the movement.
The linebooks are not currently available for public viewing. They would take an immense amount of digital memory to publish on site. It's basically 24 years of Bulova Corp. internal documents that they graciously allowed us (mybulova) access to, in order to help us in our quest to identify as many watches as possible for the collector community.
You can add more photos in a "add a comment" box by clicking on the little photo icon at the top of the box (third icon from the right).
Once more of the panel members have evaluated your watch, it will be officially named/published for everyone who visits the site to see and be a permanent reference resource for Bulova collectors worldwide. :o)
