Trying to identify the year of this watch and/or model number. Ultimately I'm looking for a value. I don't believe the band is original. It's got Spegial USA stamped on it. I'll look for some small tools to see if I can open the watch. I do have the original case. Looking at your site I'm somewhere between 1965 and 67? Thanks so much for your help.
Bulova Astronaut like this one https://www.mybulova.com/watches/1965-accutron-astronaut-11484 beautiful watch! Very sorry we do not do values but you can look through the Astronauts on ebay that have sold to get an idea. Is there a letter/number on the back of the case? That would indicate the year for us.
Bulova Accutron Astronaut
Thanks Kathy! I saw that one on the site but my case is the rectangle/square shape. Am I correct that the band is not original? Just thinking selling it for the gold value would be easier but I want to make sure I'm not melting down a unique piece first. There are no letters/numbers anything on the case itself- and I've also got the box the case goes in...
In reply to Thanks Kathy! I saw that one… by AshleyA
I could be wrong because I don't collect the mens watches but these are super collectable so I think you might get more selling it than selling for gold value. I think the band is a replacement yes.
What is the date code under the serial number on the back. Should be like a M6 or something like that.
Thanks Kathy- I'll try and find a value and post for sale first. Jim- it does have M6 under the serial- I missed that the first time.
M6 on the case designates 1966 manufacture. I think I read that the outer rotating ring around the dial is 14k solid gold and the case and back are 14k gold filled. Please confirm? If so, I submit the advert below and suggest and ID of.....1966 Bulova Accutron J

Awaiting confirmation of case back info, but it does appear to be a Accutron "J"
Nice linebook find Geoff, agreed.
1966 Bulova Accutron "J" (pending confirmation of case back info)
Agreed. 1966 Bulova Accutron "J" (pending confirmation of case back info)
Thanks for the help all. Seems like the consensus is a 1966 Bulova Accutron J in gold. Since I have the original box but not band what do you all think I should list for? I'm going to list on this site first. I've seen them online from 1300 to 2500.
