Watch Description

Hello! I'm new to the site as a member, but have been visiting for a while. Many thanks for the wonderful database of Bulova info! I bought this one not long ago. Pretty nice condition for its age, running very well, and the price was right. Gold tone, square case thats about 25.5 mm by 25.5mm without the lugs or branded stem. Attractive dial with diagonal lines and small, hexagonal indices at all but the 4 compass point positions. The hour hand looks a bit distorted in the photo but is clean and crisp in reality. I love the inscription with date on the back. The band is probably not original, but looks nice with the watch so I have no plans to change it. I have been trying to identify it using the site but have not seen a match. I probably just missed it. Does anyone recognize this one?

That was quick! Thanks! Does yellow in the “K” description refer to the case color or dial? I see the “J” version says same as K but with gold-tone dial. I don’t know how it looks in the photos, but the dial on mine appears gold in color.

That would be my take. Both cases are yellow gold. The difference would be the dial.

It's hard to tell from the photos just how yellow the dial is.

Can you advise what you are seeing?

I'd agree with Craftsman "K" as the dial surface appears more silver than gold.

The variant can differentiate a number of items between otherwise similar models, most often a case color or a dial color or maybe a band choice. A variant can also specify a particular single model design over all others in that model lineup.

It’s bit hard to capture with a photo, but to me the dial background appears to be a less shiny, or less bright shade of gold than the case and indices. My eyes may not be as color sensitive as they used to be though. I’m happy just knowing its a Craftsman.
