Bulova 1962 Leading Lady

Face shows Bulova 23. The back case is stamped with 14k, Bulova and the numbers 274487. I cannot remove the back case as I don't have proper tools. The crystal is not cracked as one of the pictures suggests. I do not know if this was my Mom's, her sisters or their mothers (my grandma), so it could be from the 40's-60's? The stem is stamped with a "B". I don't think it's self winding, but it does actually work if you manually wind the watch.
