I recently found this watch digging through some old bins of other stuff I collect. I bought it a few years ago and for some reason it was tucked away in a box, but as soon as I picked it up it began ticking and has been running great ever since. I just recently had a new band put on and it will likely become a watch I wear quite often. The face has become quite overcome with patina and made about a quarter of the watch nearly unreadable. Nonetheless, I love the unique look of it, and I feel it adds character to this classic Bulova. The gold finish is in very nice condition with the exception of a small area near the patina. the crystal has many very light scratches. As far as model goes, it looks very similar to some of the 1960 Clipper models I've seen. It seems to look the most like an American Clipper, but it's not the same movement as the American Clipper which has an 11ALACD movement. So I'm a bit puzzled as to what model it really is.
Yes American Clipper looks right to me, like this one www.mybulova.com/watches/1959-american-clipper-6243
I absolutely love the dial and wouldn't change it. I believe it is called a tropical dial when it patinas like that and can be quite desirable.
