Watch Description

1959 Senator???Maybe??   I bought this one thinking it was a Senator EW based on the dial and case.  After looking closer the case and lugs did not seem to match exactly to senator examples I saw on the site.  The case is 34.2 mm across not including lugs and crown.  Textured dial and indices look to me to match the Senator EW.  Sets, winds, and runs smoothly.  A keeper no matter what it is, but I would be greatful for an exact ID.

Thanks!

Interesting watch.   It certainly looks like a Senator EW but the case back is all wrong.   This caseback is more like a waterproof watch so I am inclined to think this might be a 1959 Bulova Dolphin although I am not sure if the lugs are a match..

The Dolphin is one I’ve never seen.   Great looking watch.  I think you’re right about the lugs not matching though.

Here (Midshipman)  is another possibility, but again, the lugs don't seem to quite match and case back is different. Same dial and hands.

Dial and hands do look like a perfect match!  I had not seen the midshipman before.  Similar to the senator dial but has the waterproof stamp.   Definitely a different case though.

Dial also seen in the SeaBee "A", but alas also a different case.

It may be a Senator variant. I think I'm seeing matching (or very close) lugs.

Something to also consider a marriage of parts. I'm not saying it is, but it is possible. See watches 3 and 5.

It does seem to be a mix of parts not a clear match for me.

Agree on not being able to match this one to any ad or linebook.  Unknown or possible non-conforming.  Still a great looking watch.

It certainly could be a Franken-watch.   Thanks to all of you for the efforts in finding a match.   Even if it’s a combo of some type it runs and looks nice so I may give it some wrist time soon.
