I don't have much info about this watch besides what I've gathered here on this great site, but I can tell you that this is an authentic Minuteman. This was originally my great-grandfather's, then my grandfather's, and now it's mine. I haven't taken it to a watch repair shop yet, but I intend to so that I can start wearing this piece of history with me. If anyone has additional info about the watch model, it'd be greatly appreciated. I believe thus model was made in 1957, since it matches almost exactly another watch on this site, but I'd love to hear what anyone else has to say about it!
Thank you for your time, and I hope you admire this piece of history as much as I do. I'll update more of the info when I go to get it cleaning and working again.
Thank you for sharing your heirloom and it's story with us. Heirloom watches are the best. Every time you look at it on your wrist, you think of where it came from. Based on the case back marking "L8". it's a 1958. I will change the date for you.
You are correct, it's a Minuteman.
1958 Minuteman.
The band on it is likely from the mid 1960's. This model came from Bulova on a leather strap.
