Watch Description

The Bulova watch was given to my father by the Papermate Company in 1955. He designed the two heart logo still in use to this day.  Face shows two red hearts with a pen overlaid.  The back is engraved with:  "EXCELLENCE IN DESIGN   -  HOLTZMAN  -  D24 DISPLAY 1955".  Back also says: Bulova 14K Gold -Anti-Magnetic Shock Resistant Self-Winding A393811

What a great watch and story.  I just love the Parker Pen tie in.   Lucky for you to have this family heirloom.   The date is about right but we need to confirm.  There is a small alpha numeric number on the case back on the other side of the writing ring.  I can see the indent in the picture as outlined in red below.  I suspect it will be L5.   I did find the watch in the 1955 Bulova linebook.   Based on this your watch is a 1955 Bulova Ultimatic.

Unquity, any update on the back case date stamp? I think I'm seeing L4, but that could be my imagination.

Roger that. L5 is the stamp. I forgot to include that. Any idea of the value of the watch?

1955 Bulova Ultimatic - a cool keepsake from your father. Unfortunately we are unable to provide an appraisal.
