Hello Depperblue. To make an accurate identification we need a little more information. Is it possible to get a photo of the inside of the case back as well as one of the movement? The personalization date on the back isn't enough to get an accurate year of manufacture, which we use to find the model name. Thanks!

Welcome to myBulova and thank you for sharing your watch with us.  I love the dial on this watch and the engraving on the back is really great.  Is it an heirloom for you?  As an heirloom this watch is priceless!

Your watch is what we call a Non-Conforming model because it has a mix of Bulova and non-Bulova parts.  You have a Bulova movement and dial and non-Bulova case.  My guess would be that Clinton Foods worked with a watchmaker to put these recognition watches together for them.  They did a very nice job!  You have a 1954 movement so I am going to go with the Bulova date on this one.

Its not a family piece, rather I bought it at a vintage watch fair here in the UK. I do wonder about its story and how it came to leave it's original family though.

I looked on Ancestry and there was a George T. Peckham living in Clinton, Iowa at the time.  That might be the same person as there was a Clinton Foods in Iowa as well.  If so it would be interesting to hear how it made it to the UK.

Sort of looks like it had a sweep seconds hand at one time.
