Still pulling out certain ones to submit.  Really enjoying the site!

I think this is some type of clipper model but am unsure.   1955 Self-winder that has a smooth winding action and keeps good time. Yellow gold color case that measures 34.2 mm across not counting crown and lugs.  Seems considerably larger than most others I have from this time period. The dial is a really beautiful textured gold with gold clipper style hour markers and tiny black minute indices all around.  The crystal has some scratches and hazing and should be replaced so one can get the full effect of the dial.  Case-back is gold color as well and indicates this one is 10k gold filled and water tite.  Stainless retaining ring that I could not turn, so no movement ID or pics.  Sorry, I need to get a better wrench for these.

Thank you for posting your watch.  This looks to me to be a 1955 Bulova Lord Springfield variant.   Everything seems to match expect the waffle dial.  My vote is 1955 Bulova Lord Springfield unknown variant.

1955 Price Guide shows the following:

  • #1089 - Y - Lord Springfield "A" - $75.00
  • #1055 - Y - Lord Springfield "B" - $75.00
  • #1057 - Y - Lord Springfield "C" - $75.00

"A" has line incidies
"B" has even number indicies - black dial
"C" has even numbers indicies - white dial

If I had to nominate a variant, "C" would certainly be it.

and most likely variant "C".

Voting for Lord Springfield, but dial is holding me back from assigning it the "C" variant.

Case is a dead on match and even the crown looks the same.  The dial is definitely not white.  Almost the same gold-tone as the case with very tiny waffle type texture as described by JimDon5822 in the first comment.
