Dial needs a total refinish. It has bilstered off in several areas. Case back is signed inside and out and the movement is signed as well. All hands and numbers are raised and gilt and the signature and minute markers are black. The watch runs well and keeps good time. I saw one like this on ebay go for a considerable amount today and was suprised at the figure. I would like to get it redialed and hang on to it as it was given to me by the son of a master watch maker who was a Bulova nut and it has pushed me to get into the collecting of them.
The case back is SS and the movement is dated L4 and the case back is dated L5.
Lexington B looks good except for the dates.
Looks like the Lexington "B" was available as early as Spring 1955 (Model list below)

Same model/variant still available in Fall 1958 model price lists, w/ same unique model number (below).

The watch now has a good clean dial and is very respectable now.
Thanks for all of the help folks.
John
The dial in the advert looks to have the X two toned style. I don't know the correct name for this dial design but you can just see it in the ad print. JP is there any sign of the dial X colouring on your watch...or was there originally?
Lexington...yes, but the "B" may need to have the X dial print design.
The watch may have had a poor repaint in the past, as we rarely if ever see paint "blowing" like that on an original dial.
It may have but the new dial doesn't.
I do see what you are refering to in the Lexington ad, it does look like it has the two tone X style dial but just faintly and there is no mention of it in the ad. Most of the watches in the ads with that particular dial configuration are spelled out as such in the ad.
I agree with Lexington but not the B designation. B is clearly got the x shadow dial. Perhaps the white dial was the A. Subject watch had to have been redialed at some point but I believe it would have been redialed as the original. I've had this model with 3 dials, the X, white and Butler (plain silverish).
Shawn...If the cases were the same as subject watch on the three you had w/ diff dials, then I agree the variant is questionable. The ad does show a shadow dial. Two ticks as the B...
