'Your watch appears to be a Bulova face in a non-Bulova casing. As such, it can't be ID'ed as a specific model. How did you arrive at the date of 1953?

Agree that this is a non-Bulova case as it lacks Bulova branding and serial numbers.  Nice watch with a great case and band match to the dial but non-conforming as a factory Bulova.    We would need to see the movement to date the watch.  It should be noted that jewelers would often recase damaged or worn watches with new cases so it is not indicative of anything other than it was probably a well worn and loved watch.   I have numerous in my collection and enjoy them just as much as the factory Bulova's.

Agreed. Unfortunately we won't be able to provide you with an ID as the case is not something produced by Bulova. You might want to look through the 1950s watches we have on site for something that looks the same as the dial and hands. That might give you some information about how your watch did look when original and an estimate on its age.
