Ladies watch I found at a flea market the inscription on the back is dated 1949, and there seems to be some sort of number on the back 2057580 as well. I know nothing other then that.
Thank you for posting your watch. The case back serial number would indicate this is a 1942 model and was probably engraved at a later date. To be sure we would need a clear photograph of the movement, That being said I am sure this is a Diana model based on this 1948 Ad.

Wondering if this was also available on 1942. Ad and engraving align 48/49.

The 1943 Diana models are different. They are more square. The case/model must have had a different name in 1942.

So I assume its nothing special then? Just a pretty basic watch.

Any watch that has survived 70 years and was hand built is special in my book. We would still like to see a picture of the movement if possible.

I don't think I have either the skills or abilities or know how to open it up.
I'm now wondering if there was a period (1948-49) where case date stamps were not used. We know that this period saw the change in date codes in general moving from symbol, to number, and then to code (L1), so just maybe the 1948 and 49 watches didn't have a clear case date indicator.
Despite the serial number starting with a "2", there really is no evidence that the case is from 1942. The advert and case engraving certainly indicate 1948/49.
Thoughts?
I agree Stephen, once the change over to alpha numeric date coding the serial number based year coding is no longer applicable. I would date the watch by the movement date code alone. I think it's a Diana

Agreed, movement date aligns with engraving.
1948 or 49 Diana seems appropriate. (Pending verification photo of movement date code).
