I believe this to be a 1948 His Excellency "UU" based on available reference material on this site. The supporting advert is from a March 1948 newspaper in Pennsylvania. This example suggests the watch was well worn and probably well loved by the previous owner having wear to the case and expansion band, wear through at the corners of the caseback and four to five jeweler's marks inside the caseback. I confirmed the watch will wind and run; however, complete servicing is pending. The blued hands can be turned counterclockwise, but attempts to turn the hands clockwise resulted in the stem becoming loose and would probably come free from the movement. The crystal has a convex profile. The supporting advert as do most others reflect a pitched profile. Signed Bulova: dial, caseback outside and inside, movement. The unsigned crown measures 5.33mm (digital caliper).
