yes it is ! for 50$ cad. it was a good deal! run great and keep time but need oil...... will do service soon😁
If this one is being dated by the movement it's a 1948, but if it's dated by the case, it's a 1949. The case serial number starts with the 9th letter of the alphabet and Bulova used the alphabet to date some of the ladies watch cases instead of using a number. Kathy's Bulova like this one also has a serial number starting with an "I", ninth letter of the alphabet.

You could be correct. I've only seen it done this way on the ladies watches that dated close to 1950 when Bulova switched to L1, L2, etc.
