Square 10k Rolled Gold Plate Bezel, with possible peach and cream retro refurb dial with sub second, "Modern" type hands and gold numerals in all positions except 6. 10AE 15 Jewels with "Square" date ID. Stainless Steel back marked "Duro Watch Case Co". Non standard crown and bracelet (was a mess of sharp wires, and a danger to manage). Is this possibly a (1946?) American Clipper with retro dial. I think the case, movement matches Bulova 1946 American Clipper | myBulova.com although date codes may differ. Thanks.
An attractive watch, but I am afraid it is not an identifiable Bulova model as it is in a replacement non-Bulova case. There appears to be a V notch in the dial at the "3" position possibly indicating the dial was reprinted, but I suspect the dial came with the replacement case. We classify such watches as
non-conforming
due to the fact it isn't made up of all Bulova parts. Not a bad thing, just not a "true" Bulova model. Wear it and enjoy it.
