Watch Description

I remember my mother wearing this watch when I was a child. My father recently gave it to my daughter, and I am looking for additional information about it. I had originally put the date at 1926, but now I see that the triangle symbol could be 1926, 1935 or 1945. Not sure how to narrow it down. I'm assuming 1945 now, based on information posted by Mark. Added a better photo of the face.

The Triange date stamp on the movement was used by Bulova in 1926, 1935 and 1945. I'm going to go out on a limb and say based on the size/style and the box it's in it's a 1945 model.

I just noticed that the symbols were used for more than one year each. 1945 would make sense if my mother received it as a teenager. That could be the case, as my Dad was not certain if it had been her mother's or not.

Thanks for the information.

You're welcome.

It's not 1920's era, 1935 and 1945 are very close timewise. I'm guessing 1945 based on the display box and the fact that it is the original, if this style was used in '35 I'd be surprised. The numbers inside the oblong on the movement are it's model, a 17J 5AB and the numbers on the rear of the case are its serial number.

There are a few 1945 ads in the information archives showing ladies models, You may find it listed there if not try 1935 as I've been wrong before, ask anyone.

Does the dial have roman numerals?

I can find some examples of this period using roman numerals, but as yet haven't ben able to find one with this case. So the search continues.

This looks to be a yellow gold version of a 1945 Bulova Annette based on this 1944 ad.

I'm going to assume that the parts sticking out of the sided if end lugs are part of the bracelet and not the actual watch, meaning the lugs are just a ball as per the subject watch.
