Rose Gold Swing Lugs has 8AH movement with 17 jewels. Movement has a cross or plus sign stamped. Looks like a 1943 Conrad to me.
I just remembered that I may have swapped out the back of the watch as it was engraved as a 20 year award for a shoe salesman
Nice one. Can you confirm the case serial number? If it starts with a "6", it's a 1946. The movement is clearly marked with an "x", which is 1943. It is indeed a Conrad, noting possible movement replacement.
Bulova Conrad, awaiting s/n confirmation to assign year.
See my note on case back replacement. I found the original case back and the serial number is 4449506

As a collector, I am a big fan of personalized watches and would reinstall the original back that is s/n dated 1944 and a match for the 1943 movement. It was not uncommon for a year difference between the two dates.
We have to identify and date watches based on how they are presented. With the 1946 back as it is now, it's a 1946 with a non-matching movement date. With the personalized back, it's original and a 1944.
Nice little Conrad.
I suggest we update the record with the original case serial number and ID as a 1944 Bulova Conrad.

agreed
Nice example.
1944 Bulova Conrad
Is it possible to get a photo of the original case back? As presented by photos this is technically a Non-Conforming watch but I would like to publish as a Conrad 1944
1944 Bulova Conrad is a match
