I'm not sure about the manufacturer date,  1942 is the best guess i could make.

Is the bezel all yellow gold or is there white gold highlights?

Have search all part and full adverts for the time period and was unable to come up with a match.

A 1942 Bulova Unknown for now.

It looks like white gold highlights. I don't know if this helps but it has been stored in a red velvet case that says Bulova Fifth Ave New York. My great aunt was also a nurse in the military and might have gotten it while serving

This is certainly a beautiful old Bulova. What a lovely keepsake from your great aunt. Without seeing the presentation case I suspect it is original. I'd like to think it was a gift from someone special to her when she went off to serve. I agree it's 1942 but I do find a match to it either. 1942 Bulova Unknown.

I come up empty as well. It's a beauty with a great family history.
