I am posting this watch to hopefully clarify which model it is. I believe this to be a 1942 Comptroller based on the advertisements I found on the site. It has an 8ae movement and the "T" symbol for 1942 and a case seriel number of 2333724 Although I am unsure due to the conflicting information I see on a few similar watches. I see listed a 1941 with 8ae and case number of 1636711 but then there is also a 1941 listed as Knickerbocker also with 8ae (no seriel BTW). Then I found a 1946 Comptroller with 8ae and seriel of 6443039. Then there is a pair of 1945 listed as Kickerbockers with 8ah movements one has seriel number of 5322426. I seem to remember reading the seriel number for the case would possibly be best way to determine which is which. Anyway theres my two cents. Thanks again!
Since there are two names in same time period could the designation between Comptroller and Knickerbocker be as simple as the type of band it came with? The Comptroller with leather and Knickerbocker with the basketweave bracelet?
I think we've discovered three names for this beauty, Chief, Comptroller and Knickerbocker. Based on the ads we have for 1943, I would agree that in 1942 this one is the Comptroller.
Comptroller
Comptroller. It's all about the year for the name with this guy.
Yep....I'm good w/ Comptroller for this year. This "by year" thing is challanging and fun to ID :)
Seems like we have had quite a discussion going on about this bulova model lately but l think it has started to make things a little clearer to all as to which models are which.

Crooner66 Is the inside case back marked Bulova? I'm betting it is almost for sure.
