Hi Stevie,  Can you post a pic of the watch put together please?  I think it might be a Minute Man, what do you think?

It is indeed a tricky call. We have little infomration on the Midshipman adverts other than the file name which indicates it is from 1943.

The subject watch here is 42, so a Midshipman might be the go.

The referenced watch however was dated 1940 and is a match for a 1940 Minute Man, so I'm not sure why we decided to go with Midshiman.

Panel, any thoughts on why we decided on a Midshipman for the other watch.

I'd be happy IDing this as such based on the year.

Stephen - the question you ask - what were we thinking TEN YEARS AGO? It's hard to remember what I had for dinner three hours ago, much less ten years ago.

The referenced watch is likely Minute Man - the subject watch is ALL Midshipman.

Thanks Geoff... Midshipsman it is 👍one of the reasons I want to ID the watch is to ascertain if it's gold filled case, there are no markings anywhere... based on the lack of corrosion I believe it is, but I can't say... 🤔 any thoughts??

Based on the 1942 date this is a 1942 Bulova Midshipman.  Minute Man was advertised until 1941.
