Watch Description

The date of the crescent moon marking seems to contradict the stamp of 7ap. Any information about this piece would be appreciated.

Welcome and thanks for sharing. Serial number on the outside of the case starting with an "8" is 1938. Engraving on the case would indicate a military serial number for the WWII period for someone with the initials "ASN". The crescent moon was used in both 1928 and 1938. If it was 1928, the movement would have a serial number stamped on it. I suspect the face was refinished or replaced at some point long ago.

This is one we very rarely see, with uncommon swivel lugs.

Thank you so much for the information. I own an antique shop and this watch was a treasure in an otherwise junkyard of a an auction box. I understand I can't ask about the value of items here, but would you be able to tell me if it would be worth having this watch fixed, cleaned, etc.? It winds but then nothing happens. I only wound it two to three times as I was afraid I would further damage the piece.

With the cost of servicing it is only really worth doing on a gold filled watch if you really love the watch and want to wear it or if it is a popular model that you know you can make more on it than the servicing cost.
