I bought this one suspecting it wasn't "correct" for $29 as a running time keeper, figuring it would be for parts to restore a true model. Dial and movement appear to be from a 1935 President. My guess is that it was a solid gold watch and scrapped during the depression. Movement and dial grafted into a replacement case.
Case is marked "Anchor" on the inside and "gold filled" on one end. Unmodified dial is a good fit, but the minutes track is obscured on the sides. Case has interesting bevels and engraving on the top and bottom of the crystal. When I bought it, I thought the engraving was filled with crud; but after picking at it, it's black enamel. It came to me on a 1930's leather band that is rough, but appeared to have been on the watch a very long time. I replaced it with an identical (except color) NOS 1930's band as seen.
Once I had this in hand and fussed with it; I'm going to leave it as is and enjoy it as it is. Last photo shows the band it came to me on along with the card that accompanied the "genuine goatskin" replacement.
