19k gold filled. Still runs.
Edit Alex: completed the case serial number in line with the text below.
This was my grandmother's watch. She was born in the late 1800's and received this watch for her birthday one year. It still runs pretty good.
Looks to be a nice match for the 1924 Bulova 6511.
It's wonderful that you still have it and it is testament to the quality of a Bulova watch that it still works, although a regular service will ensure it will run for another 80+ years.
Dear Tracyellen, Beautiful watch it is with nice intricate engravings even on the sides! The watch is the 6716 that later in 1925 got a name: Princine. The 6511 that admin refers to was not perfectly rounded, you can see edges in the curves of the sides and as a result used the cut corner 6TA movement and not the oval 6PP like your model. A remark on the serial number, you say it is 309 355. When you look closely, you will find there is a number 1 before the 3, so the full serial number would be 1309355. Have a look and let us know! So, in conclusion, based on serial numbers and date code: 6716.

Alex you are absolutely right about the serial number. Thank you for being so kind when you pointed it out. And thank you for the compliment. I love the watch and am glad someone else appreciates it as much as I do.

6PP from the Aurore-Villeret Cal 8 ebauche.
I'd agree with 6716.
THANK YOU ALL so much!!! I appreciate all the valuable information you provided and really appreciate you sharing your knowledge with me. I wish I could pay you for it. One last thing, is there anyone who could recommend a place to have it serviced in the Salem, Oregon area?
My apologies to you all. I just found the place where I'm supposed to ask those questions. Will do that. Thanks again!
We established some time ago that the first number related to the movement size and the second number more often than not related to the jewel count, so it should be a 65xx due to it being a 15 jewell movement.
It might be a 6516, based on this:

So a 6516, because it is gold filled and has a 15 jewel movement, as the lower counter part to a 6716 which is 18 kt gold and has a 17 jewel movement, yes?
