I have been looking to get one of these for years! Solid silver early early men's Bulova.
.925 and a standing lion Hallmark.
There are a three 1924 ads showing Stirling silver options for men's watches with this dial.
For a 1924 watch I think we have a "39744"
This guy has a hinged case.

You found one!!
Name your price $1,000,000 no $2,000,000 :-)
This is the first one I've actually seen.
What a great score.
39744 would be the Gold version......my guess is that 39743 would be the Silver version.

SOLD! 😄
An amazing find plains, I wondered where the 9AA movement post was heading. Congrats on a MOST excellent find
Here's an example of why I believe this is the 39743.
Example shows the 39714 as solid gold and the 39713 as the silver version.

This is a "first see" for me. Congrats on a killer score! I tend to follow Stephen's line of thought on model. 39744 is solid gold, so it's very likely that Sterling is 39743. It seems unlikely, even during this time period for precious metal watches (gold vs. silver) to have the same "name" /number as shown in the ad referenced for the 39714/39713.
You know... Upon further review. I just don't know if my watch up top matches the ad. It's definitely a Bulova case and watch from 1924... But look at this Stirling silver Bulova from one of my Facebook groups. It sure looks like the pictures case. I think mine is different now.

If this watch is all original, then it would be a later model...looking at the dial style (closed 9) and hands....so 1927 onwards.
Yours has the correct 'spade' hands (that's what I call them) and open 9, which is correct for 1924.
I wondered about the top case corners (45 degree angle vs. smooth) myself. Could be wear, or could be a different case? Perhaps it's best to tag it unknown for the time being.

Yeah... I guess the 2nd pictured watch with the sharp corners and almost angled lugs just looks longer too?
Mine isn't as squat and fat as an Ambassador... But not quite as long as the Ad... More imbetween?
Awesome find, congrats!
