I have been looking to get one of these for years! Solid silver early early men's Bulova.
.925 and a standing lion Hallmark.
There are a three 1924 ads showing Stirling silver options for men's watches with this dial.
For a 1924 watch I think we have a "39744"
This guy has a hinged case.

Here's an example of why I believe this is the 39743.
Example shows the 39714 as solid gold and the 39713 as the silver version.

This is a "first see" for me. Congrats on a killer score! I tend to follow Stephen's line of thought on model. 39744 is solid gold, so it's very likely that Sterling is 39743. It seems unlikely, even during this time period for precious metal watches (gold vs. silver) to have the same "name" /number as shown in the ad referenced for the 39714/39713.
You know... Upon further review. I just don't know if my watch up top matches the ad. It's definitely a Bulova case and watch from 1924... But look at this Stirling silver Bulova from one of my Facebook groups. It sure looks like the pictures case. I think mine is different now.
