It is certainly possible that the radium has simply been removed. I do that with many of my 1920s watches when the condition is poor and either chipped or already flaking. The open nature of the numbers certainly allowed for radium paint to be applied.
I agree though, you could use either for this watch and it would still look good and be correct.
Currently, We are basing all of Our information and knowledge on bits of information and records found in the United States.
One doesn't simply decide one day to open a manufacturing facility in Bienne, Switzerland for the purpose of solely importing Watches and Clocks to America. This would be a massive undertaking for a Jeweler from Maiden Lane in NY.
There is more to the 'J.Bulova & Cie' Biel, La Chaux-de-fonds, Schweiz Mikrolisk horological trademark index entry than We know. Like for example, who are 'the others' mentioned?
One thing we try and do it group watches a much as possible, especiallyk those were there may be questions as to the exact year or model name.
With this in mind I'll go ahead and ID as a 1616 Rubaiyat so that it aligns with the other example we have. This way if new information is presented we can find them easily and amend.
work in progress.... will wait strap and hands before changing picture..... but its a start!
