There should be numbers on the back of the case, along with language that verifies the case as belonging to Bulova.  How about showing us some pics of the inside and outside of the case back?

Ummm. . . larger pics. :)

Okay, I can see the back now, though it's a pretty distorted view.  Nothing at all on the back?

How about the inside of the case back?

Very similar to "his Excellency "LL" from 1948, but without the ridges down the side of the bezel. I have seen this case somewhere before, not sure where...

Yes it's similar...

At this point, we have no evidence that Bulova made that case.  We need to know what the case back has on the inside.

What is the movement caliber and jewel count (sorry, I can't read those from the pic.)?

17 jewels , 8AH

Thanks.  So now we have data on the movement.

What is on the inside of the back of the case?

It's like pulling teeth!

Yep.  This one is starting to smell bad.

Looks very much like a Wittnauer I once had with a 9WN movement which is very similar to the Bulova 8AH

Looks like a Non-Conforming watch to me, the only thing that looks Bulova is the movement, which would be mid 40's??

Case and dial look to be from the early 50's, and nothing in the confirmed database has this style dial...need more info & better pictures.

This entire post has "happened" in less that 24 hours.  Lets give Mustang6nine some time to read our requests and take some photos.  The inside case back pictures will help for sure.  6nine may not realize how quickly things can happen on site.  Having said that...now where's those darned pictures.....just kidding :)

He responded within minutes to all our other questions.  When it was clear that we weren't going to give up on the question regarding the inside of the case and the absence of a Bulova case signature, he signed off and hasn't returned.

I welcome his return and posting of the requested picture and information, but I sure wouldn't put any money on it happening.

Pretty sure that case is a Lord Elgin, I've seen it somewhere.

If so and we have no confirmation with 48 hours I'll delete the post.

Marked.

Yeh, a picture!  Thank you.

Unfortunately, I can't read what it is printed on the inside of the case, but it certainly does not appear to be a Bulova signature.

I have to agree with OT on this one, although it's a good looking watch, it's not all Bulova.  It has only a Bulova movement, which appears to date to 1945.  The case is 1950s in styling and not Bulova-made.

Thanks Mustang6nine.  Agreed this isn't a Bulova case.  We suspected this, but couldn't confirm until your picture. Good job!  ...and you still have a nice watch regardless of who made the case....It's just not a Bulova watch.
