Folks, I won an eBay auction for what appears to be a "1982 Bulova Quartz Devil Diver 666" (from the listing..) it's listed as non-running, and it sounds as if the person listing it knew which way to install the battery (at least from the photos)..
It has a movement that I can't find a marking on for the movement number, and a lot of searching - can't find another photo of it on the Internet.
I've found references to the model 242 movement, which has some similar components (the oscillator crystal for instance and speed regulation pot), but that movement has a visible stepper motor, this apparently uses some other drive mechanism, likely the coil/rotor type drive commonly used in inexpensive quartz watches today.
Anyone have any info on this movement? Ever repaired one? My wildest hope is - something simple like a missing insulator on the bottom contact for the battery.
It's a handsome looking watch, and apparently rather unique since all my image search tools can't turn up a match to it.
