1972 Bulova Un-Ripoff Record Album

Submitted by JimDon5822 on

Found this very interesting Bulova collab with Columbia Records from 1972 called the The Un-Ripoff.  It is a compilation record album with the likes of Janice Joplin, Aretha Franklin, and Santana.

Incredible find! I wonder what it was used for.

I bet I've seen that record for sale on the bay 50 times. What I'd call an eclectic grouping of artists. Carlos Santana on the same disc as Paul Revere and the Raiders!? I have the set up to rip from vinyl to create mp3 files. Buy it and send it to me and I'll fix you up. I've done a couple hundred albums already.

PS - Questlove just did a killer documentary on Sly and the Family Stone (one of my favorite 1970's bands) available on HULU. A GREAT watch.

PPS - Clearly a Canadian production (note use of the word FAVOURITE) All the DJ's quoted are on Canadian Stations as well. I grew up in Michigan, I listened to a couple of those stations late at night.

These are all Columbia signed artists therefore ok to compile them together.  Pacific Gas & Electric was a blues band from the bay area, our power company was PG&E.
