Yes, it's a tire.

Maybe neither. I wouldn't go with tire, too specific and I've only seen the one. If you go with promotional you're going to end up with a bunch of custom faces on conventional models. Perhaps something to do with the unique shapes that these special watches share.

So, I think Jay is on to something here. If I have a watch with a company name on it, for instance a President model with the BF Goodrich logo, we would still consider it a President watch and not classify in a 'promotional' category. If however I had a Nighthawk watch inbedded in a B F Goodrich tire, it would be classified as a 'Unique' Or 'Special'? The only thing I have againt that is that I have seen no other examples....the TIRE (STILL my vote) TYRE (hey, it's Stephen's web site) TIRED ( when I posted this item with the words 'launched a thousand forums' it was, apparently, a portent of 'posts' to come...) is the only Bulova Item that fits the category, unless we want to consider the messenger bag I have (NOS of course) with a 6" battery operated BULY - Bulova - clock on the outside AND the grocery type bag with the same big clock on it.

( Jay - there is more than one - mine, your's Jerin's &, I am certain, Lisa's is somewhere out there waiting to be claimed )
I think if we can identify a watch as a known model then we should so name it that model. The grey area comes in when it's wrapped up in some sort of casing like this as many models we know of share a similar movement and dial combination but vary in case design....so then what to label these unique models?
Maybe 'Tire' is the way to go, as Jay said pick a common theme about that particular series.
I just releasised that here in Australia we use Tyre and you yanks, oops sorry, you wonderful Americans user Tire. So as this site is mainly aimed at an American audience and Bulova is (well was) an American company...TIRE it shall be.
