Thanks so much for your help. This was a present from my Uncle so I know very little about it.
You can see the alpha numeric date code system in the second chart on this page:
http://www.mybulova.com/bulova-date-codes
It will help you get the date of watch production.
Only one problem with this spaceview, it has a 3 wire coil assy in it which Bulova was def no longer using by 1969, i can see a older 3 wire coil assy watch (pre 1967) having it's coil assy replaced with a newer 2 wire coil assy but it's strange to see a newer (post 1967) with the older 3 wire coil assy installed in it ?
Thanks! Not sure I can get the case back off with normal household tools. Any tips? It had been sitting around the house with an dead battery. Just replaced it this week and wore the watch for the first time. First new person I meet immediately noticed the watch and new the details of it. I'm new to the watch world so it was interesting to hear that he had quite the passion for older model watches as well.
I just uploaded a better image of the front for the main picture as well.
In reply to Thanks! Not sure I can get by scoseg
Nice photo, I would not try with household tools to remove the back. There is a very specialized tool that works correctly, anything else could damage the case back.
Watch collectors ALWAYS notice what other people are wearing, at least I do. These Spaceview watches are very collectable!
