Watch Description

My grandfather bought this watch for my father on the occasion of my birth in 1960. My dad was supposed to give it to me when I turned 18, but he got attached to it so I told him to hang on to it. I was a long haired, rough and tumble type, so it really didn't fit my lifestyle. When my dad passed (2014) I finally took ownership. While trying to find out about the watch I came across this site and thought I'd throw it on the pile. I thought it was a 1959 Beau Brummell, but it has the diamonds in the 1,3,5,7,9,11, and I've read here that there are no ads for this type of watch, so I don't know what it is.  I can't seem to successfully upload any pictures of the watch, though the one with the model number seemed to work. Here are some links, though. Perhaps someone with more tech savvy than I possess can do it.

1951 Beau Brummel in remarkably good original condition. Case back marked L1, movement is L0. This one just came to me from a non-watch savy source as you see it on the nice Bulova marked band that is usually seen on same period AAward watches. Judging from the unmolested crud on the band pins, it's been on the watch a long time. Literally no plating wear on case or band; crystal is almost perfect.

Here is another interesting one I just picked up. White gold plate automatic 23J with 6 diamonds on the dial in diamond shaped settings. Interesting 2 tone face with stone placement on odd numbers. Signed 3 visible times case, crown and face. I haven't opened it up; case is dated L8. Watch is very clean and runs accurately. KestenMade 10k GP NOS scissor center mesh band added by me, not original. There are 2 other identical examples of this watch in the database, one in yellow gold and one in white; both are ID'ed as BB (one as variant "O", one as no variant).

Found an ad for this one in the database dated 1972.  #83014-1Y - Beau Brummell AX. Appears to have never been opened, so I didn't. 17 Jewels, 10K Gold filled, 2 diamond guilt dial with painted black markers.

Gold plated Back is marked "N0" - 1970.  Original band and boxes as removed from original owner's sock drawer. Inscribed for a 25th anniversary and appears to have never been worn. Spotless.

Only one I have ever seen - first one documented to the database.

This one has been in my collection for a few years and has always mystified me. Is it a beau Brummell or a 23? It came to me in the 23 box as seen and is literally spotless. Kreisler gold filled band appears to be original to the watch. 6 diamonds on a sunburst dial.. Case and movement dated L6. By all appearances, it's a "23" with a diamond dial, and I have no reservations that this is anything but an unmolested original. I can't say whether box is factory original or if it was dropped in by a jeweler at time of sale. Runs and keeps perfect time.

This is my late father's Bulova. The back indicates it was made in 1959 (L9), it has 30 jewels, 14k yellow gold, and 20 diamonds in 12 positions on the face. It looks similar to a 1960 Beau Brummel, but I have never seen anything exactly like it online. Can you help me identify?

Watch Description

Hi all  I am hoping that this is a 1951 Beau Brummel. The movement is a 17 Jewel 8AD and is marked LO.  The case is marked on the outside with the word Bulova underneath LI. and the serial number 4503980. On the inside are the words Bulova. 10K Rolled gold plate bezel. Stainless Steel back. New York. The crown is marked Bulova.  It looks a very clean watch but is in need of a service, also the second hand keeps falling out.  would like input from members please
