Hello, I'm a new member with a nice curved Bully from 1939? or thereabouts. My guess is that it's a minuteman, but I'd like to know what the experts think, so here she is, in her glory, with her 7AP movt with the three 'A's.
Not a 'MINUTE MAN' the bezel opening differs and the curvature of the Case doesn't appear to be as radical plus they were 17 Jewels.. Admin and I had discussed a very similar Watch a few months back, the bezel opening is 'GOLDCRAFT'ish and 'COMMANDER'like, both advertised as 15 Jewels.
The Movement appears to be stamped with the Omega symbol, which would Date it to 1940.
he asked what it is! Not what it wasn't!
Research Fifth Research. If you son't known don't even consider a guess!
Let's get this site in the right track!
Actually it's not an Omega symbol, somebody engraved a happy face right next to the actual date code. The date code looks like a shield.
Just an update, this is posted elsewhere, Upon closer inspection, the "Omega" symbol is imperfectly struck/engraved, and is not filled in with gold like all the other engravings, so I took it to be something somebody added. I have it tentatively listed as a 'Director', will have to see if an ad pops up that can confirm or deny this, the other Directors I have seen don't look like this.
I'm 99% sold on the 'DIRECTOR' ID based on GS Crystal specs.
The Watch doesn't look like other 'DIRECTOR's in the database because this is the first from the pre 1940 era We have seen.
If the Shoe fits....
