Gary,
1954 was the first Year for the '23', the first Bulova Automatic to be produced in the U.S.A. and this Case was one of the first designs, the lugs typically have taken a beating.
Very nice... if it's an L4 even nicer.

This is an L6 model. I have had quite a few L4 before now but didn't know that bit of trivia then. Thanks for letting me know. To be honest i think I like papers and boxes just as much, if not more so than the watch. Seen quite a few of this model but not the boxes etc.
