So I bid $476 on this.... with 5 secs to go.. aaand apparently eBay didn't get my bid... AAAARGGGGGH!! I sat there and watch as I'm trying to bid again... NOTHING... /gnashing of teeth
Lots of action in the last 2 minutes on that one, my last seconds bid of $355 was waaaay to short...lots of nice projects in that lot!

I guess that is why they recommend putting your highest bid in early, probably was a lot of clicking being done in the last 5 seconds of that one...must have melted a server somewhere...

OldTicker, That is what I do. I have a budget so I place my max bid when I see the auction. However, on a recent auction with minutes to go I had access only thru my iPhone. I submitted a late bid with over a minute left in auction and of course it hung and I lost the item. Very frustrating.
By the way, this was an excellent buy for the winner!
