Hi, I wanted to please confirm that this Bulova “Classic 23 Jewels President" from 1973 is a Model : President "A" ? There a few ads on the mybulova.com section but can' t be sure. i had it for quite a few years, never really thought of confirming the model. It came with a Bulova bracelet and clasp but I doubt it was its original. Steel case, elliptical. shaped, those were the years of the Omega Dynamic when this shape was very trendy. Caliber : Bulova 11AOACB (N2) - Serial Number on Back: N3, F423783 - Size : 39mm with crown - Height : 11 mm - Stainless steel bracelet : Lug width 18mm - Clasp : Bulova
Crown : Bulova
Nice watch Roby. As far as I know this case style was used exclusively for the President line of watches. In 1973 there were 6 variants A-F, all of them can be found in our dB here. The President A (example found here) had a dark blue dial accented with light blue stripes running between the date window on one side of the dial and the day window on the other. I do not find a match to this dial in any of the line books and wonder if it's been repainted. The bracelet is a nice addition, I suspect it is not original but certainly is a nice fit to the watch.
I would suggest adding this watch as a 1973 Bulova President without a variant.

Thanks Geoff,
the bracelet looks good on it indeed, the guy, older collector, I purchased it several years ago, had it for a loonng time, the clasp matches the dial logo and the bulova crown, it does look good, it is almost certainly not the original, however, I agree.
Thanks again
Roby
Based on the Accutron logo I suspect this is probably an International model. Does it have a US import code on the movement? The case was also used in the 1973 Citizen but that was a 17J model. It looks to be a factory dial and probably an undocumented variant of the President as the President lines had both a 9 oclock and 3 oclock Day window..

Love this case style, wasn't around for very long. The Tuning Fork on dial in this case is a new one for me. International release is a good possibility. As stated above, knowing if the movement has a 3 letter import code on it, as well as stampings on the case back inside would help.
I agree, we dub this one
1973 President (no variant for now).
I'll also note that if this is a European model, which slightly differs from US variants, band could possibly be original. The fork on the dial says "maybe". My opinion, not verified fact based.....
